There is only 1 week to the start of the annual Adrigole festival on Thursday August 3rd . The underage blitz along with the Ceilí will again kick of the weekend on the Thursday night. The Aidan Cremin memorial 7-a-side tournament will take place on the Friday evening beginning at 6.30pm with the final taking place under lights at 9.30pm. The draw took place last week for the tournament. The draw was done in the presence of tournament sponsors Eleanor and Declan Lynch and their children and committee members.  Group A is Adrigole, Castletownbere, Bere Island, Urhan, and Group B is Beaufort , Garnish, Garda and Tousist. The annual Tag Rugby tournament will take place on the Saturday with registration at 1.30pm. Following on from the very successful 5K run that was held last year, a 5 mile race will be held on the bank holiday Saturday, August 5th at 5pm. The race will be held in conjunction with Beara Athletics Club and there will be prizes in different categories. The race will be open to those who are over 16 only and there will be a €20 charge to enter. The race will form part of the Beara Athletic Club Summer league series that will take place over July and August, with races held in Bere Island, Eyeries, Adrigole and Glengarriff. Those looking to take part can pre-register on the Adrigole website. The Sunday will see the family fun day will take place. Duck cards have been distributed and anyone who wishes to buy ducks online will be able to do so from the Adrigole GAA website www.adrigolegaa.com. There is entertainment throughout the weekend in the festival marquee.

This Sunday July 30th will see Adrigole commence their Intermediate Football championship campaign. Adrigole have been drawn in a group with Aghabullogue, Gabriel Rangers and Glenville. Adrigole’s first game is against Aghabullogue at 7.30pm this Sunday July 30th in Ballingeary. As with all game in the Cork County Championship, admission to the game is by pre-pay ticket only and these tickets can be purchased on the Cork GAA website www.gaacork.ie/tickets
