Adrigole commenced their Intermediate Football championship game against last years county finalists Aghabullogue in Ballingeary last Sunday evening. At half time Aghabullogue lead 1-7 to 0-4. A Jason Harrington goal in the 37th minute reduced the arrears but it was Aghabullogue who emerged winners 3-13 to 1-7. Adrigole’s next game in the group is on Sunday August 20th against Gabriel Rangers.
Well done to Neilan (Matt) O’Sullivan who played in the half time game in All-Ireland Senior Football Final last Sunday in Croke Park. Neilan came 2nd in the Sciath na Scoil skills competition last year to earn his trip to Croke Park.
Last Friday in Croke Park saw the GPA remember All-Ireland winning teams from the past across various decades over the last 60 years. It was great to see the club represented by 1973 Cork players Kevin Jer O’Sullivan and Bernie O’Neill and hopefully they enjoyed their trip to Croke Park.
Last week the GAA world games took place in Derry. On the Middle East team was Emma O’Shea from Adrigole who reached semi-final of the ladies football competition. Well done to Emma on this achievement.
