Last Sunday Adrigole GAA celebrated the 40th anniversary of the annual club draw with an 80’s night in The Wild Atlantic Bar. It was great to see such a large attendance , including members of the Adrigole GAA committee from 1984 who started the draw. Thank you to all those who attended and made the night such a great success. The winners of the January draw was as follows, €150 Dan Carney Trafrask, €75 Timmy Glen O’ Sullivan Ulusker, €25 to each of the following, Theresa Purcell Ballincollig, Joseph Blake Adrigole, Patie O’ Neill Drumlave and Danny O’ Sullivan Bandon. The February winners were as follows, €150 Jamie Botermans Hungry Hill Campsite, €75 The Murphy family Bantry , €25 to each of the following, Micheál O’ Neill Drumlave, Conor Dowling Curragh, Eileen O’ Shea and Kate O’ Connor.
Adrigole recorded their second win in this years Division 5 of the county league with a win over Kilmurry in Adrigole last Saturday. Adrigole lead 1-7 to 0-5 at half time with Cian O’ Shea getting the all important goal. Adrigole maintained their lead during the second half and emerged winners 1-10 to 0-7. Next up for Adrigole is a trip to the city to take on Na Piarsaigh on Saturday April 13th at 6pm.
The Caha Og under 14 team were defeated by Gabriel Rangers in the west league on Saturday.
The Adrigole Junior B team will make the trip to Durrus this Saturday, April 6th to take on Muintir Bhaire in Round 2 of the Beara / Carbery league and the game has a 6pm throw-in
Well done to Tom Keane who won the last man standing competition that was held over the course of the national football league. Tom emerged the winner on count-back over Shane Joe O’ Sullivan with Jack O’ Regan. Thank you to the over 250 people who took part in such a successful fundraiser.
Well done to Ben O’Sullivan who was part of the Colaiste Pobail Bheanntraí Under 19 team the defeated Mitchelstown CBS in the County School football final on a scoreline of 1-12 to 2-8. David Harrington was a selector for the team.
