Adrigole GAA Festival 2022 - Report

Adrigole GAA held a very successful festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend. The weekend began on Thursday with the Under 8 blitz taking place with the County Mayor, Councillor Danny Collins attending. 18 teams from 7 clubs were in attendance from Beara and beyond and the night ended with a Ceili in the marquee. On Friday the inaugural Aidan Cremin 7-a-side football tournament took place and the report can be found here. On Saturday the annual Tag Rugby tournament (sponsored MQWI) took place, with 8 teams taking part in 2 group round robin format. The tournament which was played in testing conditions, ended up with the final between Crowley Fire & Safety and Paracetam All Blacks, with Crowley Fire and Safety emerging the winners. The inaugural Adrigole 5K took place in very testing conditions on Saturday evening a report on the race can be found here. Thank you to all who took part in the race and all those who stewarded the route. Sunday saw the ever popular family fun day take place. The annual sheep race drew large crowds with a surprise appearance of Kevin the sheep. The duck race was won by Michael Green, 2nd Allanah Crowley, 3rd Mary Ethna O’ Sullivan, 4th Teresa Downing and 5th was Siún Carey. The egg cracking competition was won by Fia Russell. The long puc was won by Eoin McNamara, The Under 18 was won by Caoimhe O’ Sullivan and the Under 12 was won by Ronan Crowley. The Under age Olympics proved to be a great success with a large number of children taking part. The obstacle course drew a large number of participants with "Adrigole A" emerging as the winning team.
